I get in my car after a shift and it used to feel like an oven — wheel too hot to hold, seat scorching, the whole thing baking at 70°C. I'd tried a flat accordion shade but it was such a pain to set up that I just stopped bothering. The Windshield Umbrella opens in three seconds and covers the entire glass. Now I get in to a cool seat and a wheel I can actually grip. I should have bought this years ago.

I'm a real estate agent — I'm in and out of my car all day in the summer heat. Before this, every car was an oven and the AC took forever to catch up between showings. Now I pop the umbrella open against the windshield whenever I park, and the cabin stays cool. Three seconds to open, folds into a slim sleeve, lives in my door pocket. It's made my workday in the car genuinely bearable.

I did the math: I'd bought two cheap accordion shades that never fit my windshield and a roll of those silver suction-cup ones that fell down by noon. The Windshield Umbrella actually covers edge to edge and never moves. My dashboard stopped fading, the cabin is dramatically cooler, and the AC cools the car in half the time. I used to think a hot car was just part of summer. Turns out I was using the wrong tool.

How It Works & What's Included
What it does: Opens like an umbrella against your windshield to reflect UV rays and heat, keeping your interior cool and protected.
How: A reflective, ribbed canopy spans the full glass — blocking sunlight before it heats the cabin, instead of half-covering it like flat shades.
Time: Opens in about 3 seconds and rests on the dashboard. No suction cups, no folding a flat panel against the glass.
Coverage: 138.5 x 77.5 cm (54.5 x 30.5 in) canopy fits most sedans, SUVs, and trucks.
Storage: Folds down into a slim carrying sleeve that fits in a door pocket or under the seat.
Best for: Anyone who parks in the sun — daily commuters, school runs, work vehicles, and hot-climate drivers.
Results: Interior temps that can hit 70°C without a shade drop to as low as 32°C with one in place.
Why Flat Shades Don't Work (And What to Do Instead)

Cover, Don't Half-Cover
The ribbed canopy reaches every corner of the windshield. No gaps, no exposed strips of glass letting heat leak in — the whole front of your car is shaded.

Stays Up All Day
The base rests on your dashboard and the canopy holds its shape. No suction cups peeling off the glass, no shade collapsing into your seats by noon.

Fits Any Stop
School pickup. The grocery lot. A full day at work. Open it, rest it, leave. The whole setup takes three seconds and folds away just as fast when you're back.

Protects Your Interior
Unlike a hot car that fades the dash, cracks the leather, and cooks your electronics, a shaded cabin stays cooler and ages slower. You can use it every day and your interior stays protected.

What Drivers Are Saying
★★★★★
"My car was 30 degrees cooler getting in."
I parked at the beach all day, full sun. Normally the wheel is untouchable and the seats burn the backs of my legs. I opened the umbrella before I left. When I came back the cabin felt cool, the wheel was fine, and the AC cooled it down almost instantly. I genuinely couldn't believe the difference.
Maya C. — Toronto, ON
★★★★★
"I finally have a shade I actually use."
The irony was that I owned two sunshades and never used either — they were too annoying to wrestle into place. This one opens like an umbrella in seconds, so there's no excuse to skip it. My car is cooler every single day now because I actually bother to put it up.
Alyssa R. — New York, NY
★★★★★
"3 seconds at every stop. That's it."
I do school pickup and run errands all afternoon in the summer. I can't be fighting a flat shade at every stop. I open this, rest it on the dash, and walk away. Comes back down just as fast. My kids stopped complaining about hot seats and I stopped dreading getting in.

A flat shade half-covers. The Umbrella blocks it all.
Same car. Same parking lot. Same blazing afternoon. The only difference? One method leaves gaps and slides down. The other spans the whole windshield and reflects the heat away. You've been settling for half-coverage.

ok i don't usually post stuff like this but i have to lol… i spent years thinking my car was just doomed to be an oven in summer. tried the silver suction shades, tried the foldy cardboard ones, tried cracking the windows. cabin would still hit like 65°C by lunch. then someone said stop half-covering the glass and actually shade all of it. got the windshield umbrella and the seat wasn't even warm when i got back. i was the problem — i was using shades that barely covered anything 😭

not gonna lie i was skeptical bc it seemed too simple. like an umbrella is gonna fix my hot car? but it really does. covers the whole windshield, stays up, folds away tiny. parked in full sun all day at work and the wheel was actually cool when i got in. it was like 35°C outside. never going back to the flat shades

"My car finally survives a full day in the sun"
I used to come back to a 70-degree oven and a wheel I couldn't touch. Now I open the umbrella before I leave and the cabin stays cool. I can't believe how simple the fix was — I just needed to actually cover the whole windshield.
Emma R. (Austin, TX)
"Replaced my suction-cup shade entirely"
The silver suction shade fell down by noon every single day. The Windshield Umbrella holds its shape on the dash and never moves. No gaps, no falling, no fuss. Why did nobody tell me about this sooner?
Sophie W. (Toronto, ON)
"The easiest sunshade I've ever owned"
I use it at work, at the gym, at the grocery store. Three seconds to open, three seconds to fold. It's so easy I actually use it every time. My old shade has been sitting in the trunk for months.
Lauren M. (San Diego, CA)
"I was half-covering my windshield for years"
Flat shades leave gaps = oven. That was my mistake for YEARS. The umbrella canopy reaches every corner of the glass so the heat just doesn't get in. It's such a simple concept and I feel dumb for not figuring it out sooner.
Natalie G. (Chicago, IL)
"My dashboard stopped cracking"
The sun had already started fading and cracking my dash. Since using the umbrella every day, the damage stopped getting worse and the cabin is dramatically cooler. This used to be my biggest worry and it's gone.
Alyssa K. (Vancouver, BC)
"3 seconds between stops. That's it."
I'm a sales rep and I'm in and out of the car all day. I open it at every stop and the cabin stays cool. No wrestling a panel, no suction cups, no production. Just open, rest, go.
Brianna L. (New York, NY)
"Stopped buying cheap shades that don't fit"
I'd bought three different accordion shades and none of them fit my windshield right. The umbrella covers edge to edge and actually stays up. It replaced all of them and works better. My wallet and my car are both happier.
Jessica T. (Dallas, TX)
"Perfect for long beach days"
I used to dread getting back to a scorching car after a day at the beach. Now I open the umbrella before I leave and come back to a cool seat and a wheel I can hold. It folds away small enough to not clutter the car.
Megan S. (Calgary, AB)
"My kids stopped complaining about hot seats"
School pickup in summer was a nightmare — the back seats were scorching. Since I started using this, the cabin stays cool enough that nobody complains. Opening it at the curb takes seconds.
Hannah C. (Seattle, WA)
"I stopped leaving my windows cracked"
I used to leave the windows down hoping it would help — it never did, and it wasn't safe. The umbrella actually keeps the heat out. The problem was never ventilation, it was the sun hitting the glass.
Olivia D. (Boston, MA)
"Works every single time"
Other shades work sometimes. This works every time. Open, rest, done. Cabin cool, wheel cool, dash protected. There's nothing to overthink or get wrong.
Chloe B. (Los Angeles, CA)
"So simple I don't know why this isn't standard"
Cover the whole windshield instead of half of it. It's such an obvious idea. Why did I spend years fighting flat shades that slid down? This should come with every car.
Rachel F. (Denver, CO)
"One shade, done"
I used to keep a suction shade, a folding one for the rear window, and a little fan. Now I just use the umbrella up front and the whole cabin stays cool. One thing. My car is less cluttered and way cooler.
Kayla P. (Phoenix, AZ)
"Felt the difference from the first day"
I parked in full sun and opened it for the first time. When I got back the seat wasn't burning and the wheel was cool to the touch. I was genuinely shocked. The AC barely had to work.
Danielle H. (Miami, FL)
"Covering beats cracking the windows"
Every tip I'd ever heard was about letting heat out — crack a window, park in shade if you can find it. This is the first thing that actually keeps the heat from getting in. And it works better than all of them combined.
Sarah J. (Ottawa, ON)
"Perfect for road trips"
We travel a lot and park in unfamiliar lots with no shade. This fits in the door pocket and goes up in seconds at every stop. We get back to a cool car instead of an oven. Game changer for summer trips.
Emily V. (San Francisco, CA)
"Saved my leather seats"
The sun was drying out and cracking my leather. The umbrella keeps the cabin cooler and out of direct sun, and the leather stopped getting worse. Zero hassle to use — it just protects the interior.
Nicole A. (Minneapolis, MN)
"Replaced my whole hot-car routine"
I used to keep towels on the seats, a fan in the cupholder, and a shade I never bothered with. Now it's just the umbrella. Three seconds and the car stays cool. So much simpler.
Taylor E. (Atlanta, GA)
"Actually using it every day for once"
I buy car gadgets constantly and abandon most of them. This is the first thing I've used every single day for months. Because it works. Every time. Without fail.
Maya K. (Montreal, QC)
"Simplest car purchase I've ever made"
Open. Rest. Fold. That's the whole product. No instructions, no technique, no fiddling with suction cups. It just works and my car stays cool all day.
